Printroom and Canon Technology
Digital and Print Management Company, the Printroom Group, have installed a fleet of Canon Colour digital presses at its Bracknell, Camberley and Reading digital print hubs.
The Canon solution includes 2 x imagePRESS C10000VP including 3 Knife trim and inline crease. Additionally, 3 x imagePRESS C700, a VarioPrint 6160 and 5 x imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2225i.
The new presses, which the company have acquired from Canon UK, were installed over the past five months. These new machines have replaced the company’s existing digital presses.
Finance Director Keith Cooper stated the substantial investment from Printroom Group is a statement of intent to keep at the forefront of technology. This is combined with the additional quality the Canon devices bring to our clients.
Cooper said that the investment, which is expected to reach £2.8m over the life of the machines, was aimed at growing the company’s share of the “short-run quick turnaround market”.
Marketing Director Simon Lewington added: “Staff are now fully trained on the new presses. We are delighted with the upturn in quality and productivity”.
Lewington added “The installation of Canon technology will be extremely beneficial for our business as we continue to grow volume and develop our business. This therefore will enable consistent colour management across all sites”.
Linda Hunt, Sales Director for the Printroom Group commented “Deadlines are getting shorter but our clients demand a high-quality product. Faster running times along with the 18 hour, 7 days a week shift system that Printroom Group offers has now increased our capacity by 40% over the working week.”

In addition to its headquarters in Bracknell, the group has production sites in Reading and Camberley. They also have a design studio, Printroom Creative.
Printroom Group, was founded in 1977 by father and son team Ron and Barry Lewington. Offering digital and lithographic print together with specialising in day to day, and long-term, contractual print management.
With the 40th anniversary the of the company in view, Printroom Group has steadily grown to have an annual turnover of in excess of £3.3m.
